Environmentally Friendly Bamboo Flooring

Plyboo is made from bamboo that is grown and harvested in China.  It grows to a height of 40 feet and is six inches around.  It is harvested when it is matured at 4 years old.  Waiting until it is matured insures greater strength and durability, which in turn means better bamboo flooring. Bamboo is a type of grass, not a tree.  So when bamboo is harvested, it grows back like grass would if it was cut.  This is unlike trees, which first take dozens of years to grow, and then when harvested they are then dead and they do not grow back.  This is bad for the environment.  Bamboo harvesting does not negatively effect the environment because it easily regenerates itself and it always grows back.  All plyboo is harvested by hand to ensure that it has no harsh environmental impacts and setbacks.

Smith and Fong also ensure that you plyboo bamboo flooring will be pest free indefinitely.  This is because the bamboo they use for the bamboo flooring is boiled in a solution of boric acid and lime.  Boiling the bamboo in this solution extracts a starch from the bamboo that some pests are attracted too.  Boric acid and lime are also natural pest repellants and they are both non toxic.  This is another way that Smith and Fong use environmentally friendly ways to create bamboo flooring.

Plyboo bamboo flooring comes in two colors that are available in two styles.  These are:  flat grain natural, edge grain natural, flat grain amber, and edge grain amber.  The natural color bamboo flooring is untreated and has its original color.  The amber color is heat treated in order to produce the amber coloring.  You can also get this bamboo flooring in two sizes:  5/8" and 1/2" standard flooring panels.  You also have a choice of purchasing finished or unfinished bamboo flooring.  Samples are available upon request so that you can see which color and style looks best in your home.
